JDS Actors Studio holds Holiday Open House on December 17, 2011

TEMECULA (November 28, 2011) – JDS Actors Studio is celebrating a successful second year of business with an open house on December 17th from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. The Studio is located at 40935 County Center Drive, Suite G, in Temecula. The public is invited to visit the space, meet the Studio’s owners Scott and Diane Strand, and enjoy three one-act holiday plays performed by current students. There is no cost to attend the open house but an RSVP at is required by December 15th. New clients who sign up for classes during the Open House will receive a 10% discount.

In the two years, JDS Actors Studio has been open, they have helped over twenty-five students obtain Hollywood agent representation and many of those have appeared in commercials, television and film. Frances Bagette recently guest starred on TNT’s Southland and feels that the coaching she received gave her the confidence and skills needed to book the role. “There are many acting studios, but the difference I have experienced with Scott and Diane is that they take personal interest in me and my career,” says Frances. “I’ve grown so much as an actress under their coaching and have gained two friends in the process.”

“Our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for students to learn the craft of acting” says actor and experienced teacher Scott Strand, “And we knew from the moment we opened the studio that Temecula Valley was rich in talent and bringing our Hollywood connections to the area would be the perfect fit.”

The Studio’s popular Hollywood Showcases and Workshops have played a big part in getting their students in front of industry professionals. G. Anthony Joseph, Producer and President of Tritan-Northstar Entertainment, is a special guest workshop instructor and has also attended the Industry Showcases. “JDS Actors Studio is a rock ‘em, sock ‘em place to work out as an actor and a great place for any producer or casting director to source talent. The workshops I attended as a guest and a teacher were excellent in talent, execution and downright home-grown manners,” says G.Anthony Joseph. “I look forward to many more visits and calling in some of their talent in our upcoming feature films”

Producer Diane Strand teaches the students about the business side of working in the entertainment industry. “Many studios just focus on the acting,” says Strand. “We take our classes a step further and teach the importance of handling the business side too. We show them how to prepare for a career in this industry from the basics of writing a resume, to obtaining great headshots, to creating a demo reel and building their portfolios.”

In 2012 the Studio will be offering some new professional workshops that cater to the working actor, starting in January with a Shakespeare workshop with guest director Allan Robb. This will be followed by a series of Casting Director Workshops kicking it off is ABC’s General Hospital’s Mark Teschner. In addition, the studio will continue to offer their core workshops which include Industry Showcases, Acting for the Camera, Commercial workshops, and Public Speaking Classes.

The Studio’s open enrollment scene study acting classes cater to all levels and all ages. Classes include Toddler Theatrics for four and five-year-olds, six to nine-year-old and ten to twelve-year-old Acting Classes for children, a teen Acting Class for thirteen to eighteen-year-olds, and an Adult Acting Class. JDS Actors Studio also offers private training.
