Why are setting goals so important? Because with goals, we create the future in advance. We create our own destiny and we shape our lives. Goals can create the power to make us grow and expand to develop our success. They transform our lives.

Goals need to be big enough to excite us and drive our lives, and the first step is to write it down. I know we all heard it before, write down your goals and think positive, but that's not enough. We have to define them with more precision.

This is the power of goal setting. There's something beyond just what we understand of writing something down. Something else happens. We become a creator and get clear as to what we want to have happen. We become determined, and it's very important to get absolutely clear why you want them, purpose is stronger than outcome!

What do we mean, purpose is stronger than outcome? I think the purpose is not to get things but it's what you become along the way and what it makes you grow as a person, and the moments that you never forget.

Reasons come first, answers come second. If you get a big enough reason to do something, to accompolish something, you can figure out how to do it, if you stay focused with determination. You can't just set goals one time and never look at them again and expect long term results.

When you set a goal, there's an interesting dynamic that happens, you're acknowledging to both your conscious and subconscious minds where you are right now is not where you want to be. Your brain becomes dissatisfied and part of what motivates human action is a sense of dissatisfaction.
